John Edwards' speech: pure class warfare

Edwards said (close paraphrase)

There are two Americas: One for the people who have already achieved their American dream and don;t have anything to worry about, and the other one, for most Americans, still struggling to make ends meet.

I suppose we are to think Kerry and Edwards will "solve" this "problem"?

And apparently, big Brother is the solution? You "ABB" people better be careful what you wish for, unless you;re just envious people who want to use the power of government to steal from people more successful than you.

Ironically, that is how Edwards made his money.

This is typical party nonsense, there have been two classes of people since the beginning of time and that's not going to change. It also feeds into the "victim" mentality which is typical of your average American. It's not their fault they are struggling, they're a victim of big corporations and "the wealthy" not their own bad choices in life. People need to grow up and accept responsibility for their lives!

Liberal Playbook: Page 1.

Ironically, the America that allowed John Edwards to go to college and law school from poverty was Richard Nixon's America.

America is the most economically divided country I have ever been to. And I have been to A lot of very poor and very wealthy countries. In fact I would bet that America is the most economically unequitable country in the world.

Obviously you haven't seen shitholes like Brazil, Haiti or most African countries. Spend a week in Port au Prince and lemme know your feelings on the US right after...

imagine that, a personal injury lawyer talking about class warfare. not your most insightful observation on these boards.

I'll back you up on that. Go to Latin American and see the big divide between rich and poor.

I have been to Bombay, India. As far as poverty goes that is pretty bad.

What makes the US so unique is it's enormous contrast. The world's most massive wealth as well as an enormous chasm between rich and poor. Brazil, Haiti and most African contries may have more poverty, but they don't have the wealth of the USA to contrast that.

Poor in America means you only get basic cable.
