Moving to Japan in a couple of months. Does anyone have any advice?

Go to the Saporro brewery in Chitose! This is the most important piece of advice I can give you! That place is the bomb!
 
I'm learning both indonesian and japanese right now. Also I will hope to find some local ladies who will help out. Has anyone ever been?
 
I'm not real keen on Japanese beers but think the move will change that. I do love sushi though so I will trade my whiskey for beer for a while. I've never been into asian women in the past so this should be interesting for me, I'm 6'5"

I agree on the Sapporo beer...
just be yourself w/ the locals, RESPECT is big there (as it should be eveywhere), understand that things are different as a result of culture, customs, etc...
NEVER slight food, customs, etc...go along w/ it even if you're not totally diggin' it...
hit up the nightlife, the ladies are friendly w/ foreigners.

BRO!!! You are soooo IN!! Japanese girls LOVE tall American guys!

As far as the beer, it's MUCH better over there, especially straight from the brewery. And if you like the hard stuff, Saki will be your new best friend! Just make sure you drink it warmed and out of a fresh pine cup or box! :p
 
I'm all about the Saki. Hot Saki, Saki Bombs whatever I love it. As far as the ladies I'm working my instructor right now just to get the fill. I will be making trips to Thailand and the likes so gear shouldn't be a problem, but what about in Japan?

Don't know anything about the gear scene there but Thailand is definately a good place, Just look for Dennis James! LOL!!:FRlol:

Yea that's the way to make Americans look good abroad. Make them think we are all just meat heads. I won't speak there language and I'll just flex and try to get gear. Also I will grunt like Arnold and say things like "run for de chopper"

Be prepared, there is rock salt in all the toilets in public places. Freaked me out at first 'cause I was drunk and was wondering why the "ice" wasn't melting under the nuclear hot blast of piss!! LOL!

Maybe in China...
Japanese actually uses vowels or vowel sounds, much like most European languages (I've noticed Japanese learn Italian quickly).

While Chinese has your typical Chee-Chong-Chwe' sounds, Japanese is more like Sayonara, Tajiki, Shitaki sounding.
