Jacknife caught on dashcam

scary! Looks like the drivers in the other two trucks kept driving and didn't stop to help?! Why do people not stop to help?!

I'm not sure what transpired beyond what was on the video. I do know the jacknife started a 40 car pile up, one woman was killed when she exited her car. I'm sure many peeps stopped to help but the more congested an area becomes the more likelihood of more injuries is my guess.

I thought the driver of the vehicle ahead of this guy and this cam guy really did a helluva job getting out of the way, though.

yeah, this was actually on my local news this morning (nawt in canada)

I would imagine because of being stunned and stopping fast ona highway is bad news

I stopped dead once for a tri-axle dump truck being stuck vertically ona sign on its bumper, but only cuz it was so wtf

It's cool the way the crack appears in the windshield. Can't even see what hit it.

Webcam driver had great reflexes. He didn't even start to fishtail.

That's absolutely spot on correct BB. The more people that stop right when it's occurring, the more people that end up involved in the collision.

I was at the very front of a spin out on I-20 once right where the interstate goes straight through the heart of downtown Atlanta. A guy in a car began spinning round and round maybe 50 yards in front of me. I swerved two lanes over, did not slow down, and got my ass out of there. All the people right behind me that just stayed in their lanes and jammed on brakes ended up in a big pile up.

Yikes! Thank god you have skilz yourself!

I've not seen or been around an accident as serious as this so not sure what my first reaction would be, but I think I would stop up the road and run back to see if people were ok.
I've been around smaller accidents and my first response was to stop, maybe not safe, but it's a knee-jerk reaction for me.
