i've Noticed...

when you work out youre bigger, you skin stretches and so your hair follicles are further apart



(lol now thats a stretch ;) are you sure you arent imagining it? ;) )
 
Your testosterone levels increase with resistance training, thus rendering you hairier.

Maybe since you aren't working out, you have less protein requirements for repair etc therefore more of what you consume goes into stuff like hair/nail growth.

I have definitely noticed that when my protein intake is high and I am growing my nails and hair also grow faster.
 
I'm hairy as hell so I don't really have an answer for this. But I have started getting more hair since lifting. But I am only 19 so maybe it's normal.
