I've had a revelation

PHATchik

Studio Gangsta
Cliff and Claire Huxtable had the perfect marriage. They were amused by each other. You could tell they were in love. They had a good relationship with all the kids. AND you could tell they still wanted to get it on. (even though they were married!) It'd be nice to have one like that someday. OK, I'm going to see what other television shows can give me revelations now. The fact that I am in a thinking mood helps. lol. :alien:

My favorite sitcom is the Nanny. I watch it every weeknight on Lifetime (they show 2 episodes from 7-8 and 2 from midnight till 1). I dont watch much TV but I'm crazy for that show.

I was flipping thru the stations yesterday and saw a little Cosby Show. There was a chocolate cake on the counter and Cliff went and cut a circle piece out of the center of the cake, then stuffed it full of paper towels and smeared icing on them to cover it up. Pure genius.

And he always thought he would get away with it. That's the funny part. But she always found out. :)

;)

They were also always honest and sincere with each other. They laid it all out on the table and remembered that love can bring them through anything together. Hard to find people willing to do that with you these days...

Takes on in a million...

You always did know how to make a point.

The best show is Fear Factor. It always amazes me what people will do for a $50k. Some people start businesses consulting on a variety of topics, some save and invest like crazy, and some eat live worms and dead squid. Go figure.

lol. Not too sure what this has to do with the thread, but thanks for your thoughts.

The last statement in your first post was:

"OK, I'm going to see what other television shows can give me revelations now."

I was just saying that Fear Factor made me realize what people are willing to do for 50k...

ohhhhhhh

lol

I have similar revelations to Blossom. The first time I heard Joey Lawrence say "whoa," I went out and skydived. What a show.

No reality TV show can ever be better than a great sitcom.

Except maybe The Next Joe Millionaire ;) jk, sitcoms > reality

The Cosby Show ruled!!!....well, the last 2 seasons sucked...when they moved in everyone and that annoying little girl. But the rest of the show was awesome. Cliff can make me laugh on his facial expressions alone.

Who are the Huxtables?

I think Fear Factor goes to show how much of a pussy most people are. Half the time when I see that show Id think damn thats cool Id do that for free. Except eating the nasty shit of course. but that too isn`t nearly nasty enough. The Euro versions of these shows (we had the idea first anyway) are much more badass

I always thought the same thing about the Huxtables. I hope eventually I can be just as cool as a husband/dad

Exactly. And Claire always managed to run everything smoothly. Here's hoping I can do the same.

of course they were perfect. Bill Cosby was the perfect mature man on tv.

In a way i think we need more people like that on tv. It seems there are very few men on now who do everything right and have good intentions and more women

You do realise that The Cosbys is fiction and not a documentary, right?

Oops...it was Lestat.

Beware...he'll probably ask for pics.

Lestat better prepare for a beat down.

Funny thing is that I have never seen a relationship like that in real life. I blame these idealized portrayals and the people who are influenced by them for many of the unrealistic expectations people have about marriage.

The show would have been more realistic if Cliff were battling a drug addiction, very common among doctors, and was struggling with infidelity issues, also very common in society. Unfortunately, a whole generation grew up with an idealized relationship, the "lovable" baffoon of a husband while his wife always had the right answer.

Mmmmmm Phatchik. (In my Homer Simpson voice). LOL. Have a great day. I've got to go get a flat tire fixed and drop off clothes to the cleaners.:)

Sounds like you have a fun-filled day ahead of you then. It is almost as exciting as my afternoon which includes my Southern Politics class and work. :)

Murphy Brown had problems.

She was a powerful woman (still taboo in some circles), a recovering alcoholic, and had a child out of wedlock.
