take a first generation antihistmine (benadryl or whatever you call it over there - something like promethazine or whatever - beware itll likely make you sleepy) and put some corticosteroidal cream on the hives themselves (hydrocortisone cream)

otherwise theyll hang around for ages (days, sometimes) and you tend to scratch them.

oh. it still might be fleas. flea bites may give rise to allergic reactions (hives being one of those)
