"Israel increased pressure Wednesday on the Palestinian Authority and Syria, sending warplanes over the country home of Syria's president and expanding its military campaign in Gaza.

Israel launched airstrikes on Gaza and sent in troops as it tried to rescue an Israeli soldier kidnapped over the weekend. He is believed to be held captive by groups linked with Syria.

Israeli troops also arrested Hamas Labor Minister Mohammad Barghouti in Ramallah, Palestinian sources told CNN. The Israeli army said it was conducting an operation in Ramallah but had no comment about the reported arrest.

Fuck that we would slaughter the Israeli army. Half of the army is women from the pictures I see. Wow they dominate Palestine. If Palestine upgraded from throwing rocks to sling shots it would be a weapons breakthrough.

Yeah and where do you think Israel gets all there shit to begin with? The US has backed them up and sent tons of crap over there.

Actually, there was an 8000 troop sweep of the area going door to door looking for the last two guys. Unfortunately, the two kidnapped guys were taken to the outskirts of town and cut up into pieces

not stating my stance on anything.

Sometimes I think Maybe its time to step back and ask ourselves..

"Why do these peoples hate each other so" ?
And by Peoples, I include all parties involved..
US, Anglo's, Muslim Extremists, Jews, Arabs, Africans...

Is it just in our human nature and we really can't solve it ?

Bombing and killing each other tit for tat doesn't seem to be working to well.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again,
and Expecting a different outcome.

The insurgents are actually NEGOTIATING with the iraqi govt, that they'll *stop* attacks, if the us gets out in 2 years.

They're acting like a political party. They know even if arrested, they'll get out. Plus they run entire provinces. US troops, even having been there for 3 years, still haven't made inroads there, and it's still pretty much lawless and insurgent-run. Isreal would've nuked the place.

The minute we leave, the insurgents will attack the pathetic new government and we will have to go back....for a third time.

Realistically IMO, I sincerely doubt that..
They have had plenty of opportunities to do such a thing in the past, and have not for many reasons. Even when they were attacked.

Mostly due to the fact that we gave them the technology to use only defensively.

Bush wasn't expecting a guerilla war. He under-estimated how much Sunni vs Shiite hatred was there. Now he's realizing, even with the saddam govt gone, it's just as dangerous for us troops as the first day. Now he's stuck leaving office and it even more a hotbed for terrorism than ever before.

Colin Powell specifically stated the war would become city fighting with door to door fighting. He estimated 15,000 to 20,000 U.S. casualties if we had to clear out city after city. Remember..this was before anyone knew how many troops Saddam had left.

He was over-ruled by Condolezza Rice who stated a new government with democratic voting would cause both the Sunni and Shite's to stop fighting. She believed removing Saddam was the key to stopping a civil war.

One of many stupid moves she has made.

Hence...the big blow up the week before Powell went the U.N. asking for unilateral support of a military invasion. That's why Powell has nothing to do with the Bushbarians anymore. Rumsfield and Rice had no clue what they were talking about and refused to listen to Powell.

Powell's famous quote was "you break it...you own it". He later explained that a civil war would break out as both sides would want to control the oil reserves and how the money was spent.

He's a smart guy...Rice is an asstool who needs to be dropped into Afghanistan...from 30,000 feet...without a parachute.

without the great USA co-signing the things they do in the middle east, they are about as powerful as wootons canada.....real talk
