I started using the isolated showers (?) theory after workouts and sinse i started them i have not been sore once the following days. I have kept the same workout and from day one i noticed the difference.
What i do is straight after i get in my gyms ice room and put ice all over the bodypart i worked out, then i get in the ice pool for 2 minutes, 2 minutes spa, 2 minutes ice pool, 2 minutes spa, 2 minutes ice pool.
anyway its working for me but would this have any negative effects on growth?
thanks :)

contrast showers and such are great for recovery i hear. i'm experimenting with them, but for me, they are not as effective as epsom salt bath + massage + stretching

That will actually HELP muscle growth

in fact the alternating hot/cold thing is incredibly great for both growth and recovery, because it forces your blood into your core and back out again, really improving overall circulation

It's a great idea (I always do it with showers too)

However all the data I've seen suggests a 3:1 hot to cold ratio, e.g. 3 minutes hot / 1 minute cold.

I take contrast showers after every workout and I do feel good after doing them. I seem to recover much faster than if I don't do it. I generally hop in the dry sauna for 5 minutes befroe too.

Walk out of the gym feeling pretty good.

Bro, you don't need an ice pool or spa. Just hop in the shower, put it on tolerably hot for 3 minutes, then very cold for 1 minute, hot 3 mins, cold 1 minute, hot 3 minutes, and finally cold 1 minute.

That's 3 hot and cold cyles and that's it. It feels great when you're done with it. Generally I wash up first at a comfortable temperature, then finish it off with the hot/cold thingie.
