Increasing the minimum wage by a dollar is going to keep poverty down? Might as well make the minimum wage $20.00 an hour...but then you get massive inflation.
The marketplace shoud decide what a job pays.

It´s not going to make employers pay more money than the service is worth. its just going to destroy those job places that are worth less than f.i. 8 dollars an hour.
