I am not I swear hyping a priduct. In fact it isn't even out yet. I've been taught that ALA without Biotin is not good. The doctor's at MRI have the new ALA and they told me that biotin isn't necessary if your ala is time released and stable. Here is their scientific blah blah. I just want some of you experts who aren't selling me anything to tell me the truth.

Glucotize™(Controlled Release Lipoic Acid)

Lipoic acid (LA) prevents the depletion of glutathione (the major intracellular antioxidant), thereby increasing an individual's ability to defend against free radicals and oxidative stress. Typical quick release oral formulations of LA have limited beneficial effects due to the abbreviated time effective plasma levels of LA are maintained. This plasma profile is a function of the short half-life of LA, along with its extensive pre-systemic elimination, which is thought to be primarily hepatic. Human pharmacokinetic studies have found that LA possesses an extremely short plasma half-life of about 30 minutes after both oral and IV administration. Thus, following oral LA administration, a maximum plasma level is quickly reached, but falls just as quickly.

To overcome these obstacles, MRI has developed a new, controlled release oral formulation of LA. In an open-label clinical study, the pharmacokinetics, safety, and tolerability of this formulation of LA was evaluated. This formulation was designed to maintain the plasma concentration of LA over time using controlled release delivery technology (polymeric cellulose resins). The results of this study indicated that this agent was safe, well-tolerated, and significantly reduced plasma fructosamine (a marker of glucose control). MRI has designed this formulation to deliver an efficacious concentration of LA over a 2-3 hour range.
