well im 6'2"
260lbs when i started
been training for about 3 months straight now
every other day that is
focusing on upper body
benchpress curl etc
i dont have a real full routine yet

well now im about 250

i want from a one rep max bench of 175 to 215
and a one rep max curl of 90 to 135

i was thinking im moving very slow on bench press but im getting progress from it
maybe im not working it hard enough?

ive been doing sets of 5 till i can do 5 sets of 5 with the weight
then i move up 10 lbs till i can do 5 sets of 5 with it and whatnot

well just give me some imput

i was also thinking of getting some suppliments to help with fat burning
im very chubby and sick of it
what are some of the better things on the market
im training mostly for strength no cardio
and would like something that would work well with what i do
i have increased my protein intake by about double

eh im rambling
please dont flame me im not a body builder or nothing
and im not trying to be
i just want to drop fat and get stronger progressivly

I wouldn't worry about supps much at this point. Jsut keep calories in a reasonable deficit and the weight'll come off. 2-3 cardio sessions wouldn't hurt either.

Just look around the board for programs. Check young squatter's single factor journal - the Mark Rippetoe program he was using would be great for a beginner.

cool thanks for the info
i think i might start playing alot more basketball
but ive always heard the gaining muscle and cardio work against each other?

Good luck mate - it looks like you have some good intentions, and your coming to the right kind of place for advice.

I'd highly reccomend the AF store (here on EF) for sups such as Thermorexin to help you along.

Try to exercise early every day - in some form or another - this will keep your metabolism in high gear, and get you to your sliming goals in the least amount of time.

A lot of times when people are new to lifting they are able to both lose fat and gain muscle. Over time it becomes more efficient to focus on one or the other.

Even when focusing on fat loss you still want to keep the weight training going - just don't expect to put inches on your arms but rather to keep as much size/strength as possible.
