Yes, it is overkill and adds no additional benefit. Check out any hairloss site/forum and they all say taking dutasteride and finasteride doesnt provide any benefit over just taking dutasteride. I personally use finasteride @ 1.25mg per day (ive missed a day here and there and it doesnt seem to be a problem) and have noticibly regained some front hair while on cycle. I also use 5% minoxidil 2x per day and this helped as well. Even though it was originally said minox. doesnt help with frontal hairloss, I had found some pretty reliable info online that said otherwise, that it does indeed help frontal hairloss as well (to a degree, varying of course user to user and not at the temples but frontal thinning). I'd recommend these 2 to anyone looking to avoid hairloss and possibly gaining some hair back (although I don't think it'll work miracles on people with major hairloss just thicken up thin spots some). There are some that claim neither did anything for them but it did enough for me to continually spend my hard earned cash on both. Some of the research chem. companies carry both at extremely affordable prices, by the way.
check out www.minoxidil.com use the xandrox...good stuff. plus, they have all kinds of other treatments. spironolactone (spelling?) is supposed to work as well by reducing DHT.
