He served four years in the army and got called up last spring and tried to delay it as best as possible. I know this from having lots of heart to heart PMs with him b/c we disagreed but he had a good sense of humor. He decided to stop fighting it awhile back and was shipped off. He was not a teenager like that one post said. He was a conscientous objector but figured someone else would have to go in his place if he didnt go. He asked me not to mention it and I havent but I talked to him at length about it and what his options were
