Is it true using slin can make you diabetic

Can anybody put this rumor to rest? Can using insulin alter the bodies natural production, resulting in diabetes?

i have never heard of anyone who that happened too

but the rumor of the possibility is not so crazy sounding that i didnt include it in my insulin faq

(by the way ive done lots of research on this topic so if i havent heard about an incident id guess it hasnt happened or if it did someone is keeping a secret)

Yes it is very possible. By using insulin to often, you can shut down your pancreas as easy as you can shut down your nuts by doing to much test. One other thing insulin can do to you very easily is MAKE YOU DEAD. This is probably the strongest most dangerous drug in the body. One mis-calculation, even by 1/2 of a cc can cause you to go into insulin shock and die. This is one drug that I will NEVER mess with. The negative aspects definately out weigh the positive ones by a long shot.

hmm. seeing as the beta-cells in your pancreas are constantly starting and shutting down while monitoring blood sugar levels, I wouldn't say that it would be similar to hpta suppression. mainly because there is physical atrophy in the balls, cuz naturally, they aren't meant to be shut down. plus, (although the jury is out on the definative reasons for type 1 diabetes causes (type 2, i think is thought to be mostly genetic)), from what i've heard, over use of the pancreas is thought to be responsible. i.e. in general, people diagnosed with diabetes report diets that are overwhelmingly unheatlhy with tons of simple sugar uptake, though there are people who get it who are in great shape. so, i think most think that it's a combination of genetics and environmental conditions.

Im going on 42 so whens it supposed to happen?

Off now 1 month after 6 months of slin at 10iu daily post wkout and non wkout days. Some times 3 months sometimes 1 month sometimes 4 months and stopped cold turkey. When do I start feeling the diabetic symptoms? Will it still happen? Maybe in another 6 months ill start getting hyPER? Sorry to be sarcastic, but sane use of slin and pancreatic hpta-like shutdown arent
guaranteed like test introduction. This has been my experience, which is the best thing I can give the boards.

latimier I feel you are somewhat mistaken in your statements.... anyone knowing the basics of insulin is not going to be injecting 1/2 cc of the stuff

To quote lawnsaver:

First off there is no negative feedback loop for the pancreas. Second, you body will produce insulin when ever you eat carbs! If anything adding slin would take some pressure off the pancreas. I hae never heard of anyone who took slin that went diabetic from it.

Peolpe turn diabetic from to much sugar intake. Type 2 diabetis. You can stay on it for 8-10-12 weeks. I wouldnt because you are bound to put on fat. I would go in 6 week spurts!

This is what i've heard from many other bros very informed on insulin use... which also coincides with what i have read.
