Is it ever OK to take maltodextrim or dextrose pre work out?

I'm with Jkurz....I like to slam a shake mid-workout - works decently and seems to make me work that much harder for the rest of the workout. Usually I'll down about 1/2 cup of oats and some chicken about an hour before hitting the gym.

good thread... if you eat oatmeal in the morning but dont lift till after work is it ok to have it again?
