A friend of mine actually wears a 70k euro ring. 85k dollar or so. It´s white gold with like a mozaic of diamonds in it, its pretty.

That was the thing, it was the getting rid of. I would have loved to have thrown the rings into a river or something for the sheer drama of it, but I needed the money (paltry sum that it was).

Its a random thought, but it hurts me to think that despite the value of the ring, its sitting there not representing anything. Sure I'd sell it and move on. If there's a better use for the value of the ring, and maybe it represents jettisoning a past commitment, go for it.

Seriously, diamond rings as wedding rings are just the result of a promotional opportuntity of the old deBeers days of the 1800's. But I guess the point is that they represent a commitment of yourself & your love to someone. And then it goes sour. How depressing. I know relationships dissolve for a thousand different reasons, but its just so sad what the rings represent when it doesnt work.

Because you are BOTH her mom and dad....I have my moms....which I will give to my daughter when she is older she can have it reset or keep it.....it is a special thing........
