Clen is used to keep T4-T3 conversion in the liver happening. Otherwise you have a huge fat rebound when you quit using it.

So yes it is absolutely essential.

Never hit any cramping problems myself with Clen without using Taurine. However, I always use it with Clen now anyway. Clen will deplete it so may as well put it back.

I am a guy that did not use taurine and did have cramping especially in upper body. Have taken it with clen since and have had no problems. Each person is different.

I was always under the assumption that the potassium was for cramping and taurine was for T4-T3 conversion.

These have two grams of it in a can. The low carb version of the drink tastes AWESOME, has only 6g of sugar, 160 mgs of caffeine (not excessive), a buttload of B6 and B12, and L-Carnitine (an add-on in newer creatine blends that studies have backed as an exercise aid). They give me a nice buzz too.
Still not the best way to supplement taurine, but i love this drink.
