Is Flashman Around A Question about a Clutch?

Dude I think the clutch is slipping bad. I am like doing idle speed in third and then get on it. The engine will rev like a son of a gun but the bike pauses and then goes. MAn, this dude must hot rodded it from stop light to stop light because it only has 800 miles and the back brackes are shot too. How much does clutch job cost. Thanks.

Hey bro, sorry, I was on a conference call... Ok, well, you don't have a severely hot-rodded engine, so a one step above stock clutch should do fine for you. As far as price goes, You can get a pretty nice clutch setup from Barnett for around $150, but that's parts only... I would take the bike to a reputable shop in your area to see if you actually need a whole setup, or if your problem can be fixed by simply adjusting the clutch. That would fix you for now, then in the spring, replace the clutch entirely. As far as the brakes go, if all you need is pads, it'll be fairly cheap to have it done, it's comparable to a disc brake job for two wheels on a car... A clutch is pretty labor-intensive, so it can get kind of expensive, that's why I told you to have it checked first to see if an adjustment to fix it. Try that and let me know what they say about price.... hope that helps...

This clutch is NICE!!!

Thanks flash.

I was wondering does very heavy clutch usage in traffic make the clutch slip more inotherwords when it gets real hot?

Thank.

It can, but if you know how not to ride the shit out of your clutch, then even the heat won' t be a factor...
