Is coffee bad on a diet?

I drink coffee almost every day. It has become a habit of mine. I cut down though by not putting sugar in my coffee and by adding an artificial sweetner instead.
What exactly does coffee do to you when you are dieting?
 
I sometimes use it as part of my eca stack. As long as you are not putting sugar n stuff in it....its ok. Just make sure you are not slacking off on your water intake:)
 
Coffee is a mild diuretic and might cause you to feel slightly dehydrated. There's one guy at my work who looks like he either takes his coffee intraveneously or snorts it -- he is skinny as shit and has a constant nervous twitch -- he makes me nervous just talking to him. Based on that I would at least want to keep my coffee to moderate levels LOL! I used to drink coffee to stay warm in my 65 degree office, except after 2 cups I'd be having anxiety attacks....:rolleyes:
 
i am probably one of the only people on this planet (okay, at least on this continent) that has NEVER allowed a tiny drop of coffee to pass my lips...

5 years in undergrad eng with a full time job during the last 3....(yes it was a 5 year program, i'm not an idiot :) )and never any coffee for me...

never smoked a cigarette either...

damn i sound like such a health freak!
 
After awhile, coffee loses it's effect...just like an overused ECA stack.. switched to green tea- antioxidant & no teeth stains :D :D
 
I drank coffee the whole time of my diet. Alll the way up until the day of my show (1 teenie espresso cup that day). If you drink it anway, and are dieting then keep drinking it. A diet is not a time to start trying to break the caffeine habit.
 
well i use to drink coffee to but i cut that crap right out cause i thought it was bad when your dieting . well last weekend i had one cup of decaf with no sugar and 2 tbs of liq creamer ...... my fiance asked me how the hell can you drink that without sugar ..... lol well to tell ya the truth it tasted nasty lol yuck ;)
