They were traveling the country side and looking for a waterfall that was in Irag. It was pretty stupid of them to go and hike in the most unstable part of the world however they are college kids that were on spring break , I believe

If "hikers" is their cover, its VERY weak...Its such a weak cover, it just seems that them being spies cant be true lol I guess that could be the point, but what in that area could they have been spying on? What was around where they were caught that is such a priority? Or is it just that they are Americans in that country? Thats what I really want to know...

A) They're American
B) They're roaming around the desert on the boarder of a hostile country


I'd say hikers would be pretty good. You're very limited in what you could pose as in that situation.

Its just ODD that they are being accused of spying IF there isnt any "sensitive" areas in the place that they were found hiking. If they were really just out in an area with wildlife and a waterfall then what could they be accused of spying on? That what Im getting at...I can understand them being accused of spying if they are Americans and they are around military bases and caught hiking around or if they were sneaking around some industrial area or something, but to just be arrested out in the wilderness somewhere and charged with spying just seems odd since proving they are spies would be near difficult other than just saying "U are American, so you must be a spy!"
