Iran Execution Methods - which would you chose?

A man being executed in Iran recently was given 72 hours after being judged and sentence to pick his method of execution. They gave him four choices and he had to pick between :

Being stoned to death

Hanging

Being halfed by a sword (though the news article said it was "being halved by a sharp sword"... like duh! a dull one isn't going to do shit)

Being dropped from the the highest perch.


Now which would you pick? Stoning has to be brutal and a long time in happening before death overwhelms you.
 
AAP.... Are you serious? I am aware that some countries are very crude and outdated but that is horrible.. I guess if someone hurt my parents or loved ones I would rather stone them myself but that just seems very neanderthal for the 21st century...

now that i think about it.. i'd take the rope.. last thing i would want to do is see myself cut in half, having rocks pelt me for a few hours or being dropped multiple times before i die.. jesus....

I would like to know about the halving with the sword. Is it a vertical cut or a horizontal cut. Must be a strong ass bastard to cut either way.

Oh and by the way, this was just the alternatives the man was given to chose. In some cases they publically execute you with a shot to the head or beheading. In one case they allowed the father of a murdered girl stab his attacker three times and cut his throat just like the man did when he killed the girl.
 
To be able to avenge a crime with equal abuse is a great idea. I bet that father went savage. It must help with the grieving process to be able to physically get your hands on the criminal. Alive in jail wouldnt do much.

on the choices side, I choose hanging.
 
I believe when they hang u it isnt just a simple snapping of the neck. They actually put enuff slack in the rope that it pops ur head right off.
 
I would seriously try to off myself in a less-violent manner before the 72 hours was up. ...like, I don't know, somehow asphyxiating myself with my clothing.

Dropped from a high perch. Hoping the landing would kill me immediately. Watch it only be three stories and they let you bleed to death, that would suck.

I would go for the stoned to death option but it would have to be that real Columbian shit.



If you meant with rocks then probably go for the dropping off a high perch.

Must have been a lesser crime if he has a choice.

Hmmm. I think hanging is the least torturous.

As far as the sharp blade, don't take that for granted. The insurgents in Iraq have been chopping heads off with dull ones.

That is old west style. However, I don't think they do it like that because the photos of those teenagers they hung didn't show them hanging below a trap door or something where they dropped. I think they just place the noose around there and push you off a little 6 inch block.

Being stoned isn't like the India method of being stoned where you are crushed between two stones, it is the throw-rocks-until-you-die method.
 
Remember that according to their laws, when you get stoned to death they burry your body from the waist down (for men, for women its from the neck down). If you manage to escape, you're free. I dont know the stats...
 
Why would they bury a woman deeper? Being weaker they should give her the advantage of being only half buried.

I wonder if anyone has ever managed to escape and thus earn their freedom?

Woman's breast. When hitting the body with stones, the clothing/sheet might open and show her breast. They seem to make a big deal with boobs, not only the FCC :)

Yeah, splatterd guts and brains are okay, but wardrobe malfunctions are a strict no-no.

LOL. What a weird country. I think the best execution method for iran is bio weapons so we can get their oil sooner after we extinct them.
