who's got one? Is it worth it to spend the extra $ and get the Nano instead? i only want/need 2GB and i probably only need it to listen to music.
the shuffle doesnt have a screen though which seems like it might be annoying? or maybe if you're just listening to music who needs a screen for that, right?
the shuffles are so inexpensive. help me make a decision. now. thanks

Do you prefer the iPod products or have you looked at the Zune at all?

I have a shuffle

I bought it just for workouts so I don't care about the screen, you can still easily find what song you want if you know what's on there

it's light and durable too, i always smash/drop it

id prefer my cheap shuffle to a nano that I would probalby break

good points
so you havent found that not having a screen really makes any difference?

I havent, no. but i usually put full CDs worth on there and I know all my CDs and playlists well enough that I can quickly shuffle (pun, hehe!) to whatever song I want without the screen

ok, and if you want songs on there that you DONT have on CD then you have to DL from iTunes right? How much does that cost? is it costly?

I have a Zune and it is awesome.

I have heard horrible things about Apple products, like the player deleting songs that are copied off of CD's and you have to use their damn software which sucks.

You can get a 30GB Zune for under $200. Nice video screen, easy software interface and it will play anything, videos, pirated music and it even stores pictures. This is coming from someone who is not a big Microsoft fan too.

I have a Shuffle for working out and a Nano for the car. 40giger hooked up to the home stereo. Shuffle and Nano get used the most, I'm very fond of my Shuffle cause I can't even tell I'm wearing it when doig things. Unless you plan on putting vids on it I don't see the need for a screen.

you can use the itunes program to convert any mp3s on your computer into the itunes format and transfer them, so no you don't have to buy any music from itunes

i still "borrow" music and convert and put on my shuffle

You can load anything into iTunes, but to buy songs through iTunes it's .99/song.

i love it
teach me the way ObiWan

download a bittorrent program (many versions out there, google bittorrent and choose one)

check out the site in your k message for torrents (not sure on policy here) which are basically albums to download for pleasure for backup purposes only (if you don't own it then dling it is illegal) but you know how all that is

I have an ipod shuffle and I love it. I hook it up to my shorts and work out to my favorite music at the gym. It's very convenient and the rest of the ipods are too bulky.

I love mine also. I'm not a big apple person, but I love the fact that I can clip the shuffle right onto the top of my tshirt and stick any extra headphone cable down my shirt. It hasn't gotten in the way yet!
