Iowa Flooding vs. Katrina

-SD-

Im interested to see how the people of Iowa will handle and react to the flooding, which is similar to the Katrina situation. Will there be crying about lack of government assistance? Widespread lawlessness and looting? Or will the state and the people pick themselves up by the bootstraps and do what they have to do?

The latter.

Wonder why.

Because it's more rural. Who wants to carry a tv 5 miles thru waist deep flood water....ya racist.

it'll also be interesting to see the Govt response in terms of aid money. Important primary state and stuff.

I've been swamped and havent really followed the news so I dont know if the flooding is on a comparable enough scale to make comparisons useful.

hopefully bush, fema and the corps of engineers have learned since their mistakes of hurricane katrina and it's aftermath.

the flooding scenes i viewed on the weather channel remind me too much of three years ago.

the government blew up their levies too?
i dunno about "blowing them up" but i hope theirs were built to the specified height and maintained better the the corps of engineers did the levies they built to "protect" new orleans....

peeps, don't you realize the MILLIONS of taxpayer (YOUR ) dollars that were squandered by the U.S. Corps of Engineers on "faulty levies"? levies that have to rebuilt (paid for by YOU!) because of the corps of engineer's shoddy work and matainence? :kaioken:
