great shirt, practice a lot to find groove. You may need a lot a weight on bar to get it to your chest.

take it you have used the HPHD before? got any tips on that shirt? i was able to get weights to touch. i dont think we had it pulled up high enough on my shoulders though. gonna use it again this coming sunday.
also, anybody got any tips on getting the shirt on? i used a lot of baby powder, and my training partner still had a hard time getting it on me. and i dont think it was up far enough on my shoulders.

Is it open or closed back?

Read this article, http://www.elitefts.com/documents/bench_shirt_101.htm, I did.

I was also fortunate to get a hands on lesson from the guy who wrote it, Jim jacked up my shirt for me, it's a progression, but it made all the difference in the world.

Let me know if you need any more tips, you can learn so much more by just being around guys who know what the fuck they are doing.

that type shirt must be screaming tight, to get the most from it, the best way i have found to get on a really tight polly is to turn it inside out, put the arms up as far as possible then have somone help you get your head through and roll it down on you. you can use suit slippers or plastic bags,( the kind with handles) to help get it up your arms if they are really tight. and also the farther you pull it down in the front, the more resistance you will get, have someone pull up in the back and then pull down in the fornt as much as possible, then secure it with a belt. and a tip for your helper, those gloves used for gardening that have the non skid shit on them make it easier to grab and pull the shirt without thier hands slipping. I once saw a guy get knocked silly when the handlers hands slipped and punched the lifter in the nose!

Haha...man, i remember trying to help my training partner with a closed neck/back shirt - getting it on sucked so bad. Powder didn't help much. Like pwrlfterscott said - maybe the inside out trick? plastic bags...? Gets you all tired/stressed out by the time you get the damn thing on! I'm glad I've got an open back now (will have to have closed neckline though at next meet). If I had a shirt all closed up - i think I'd probably bust open one of my plastics...if ya know what I mean!!! Good times, good times.

Good luck to you with your new shirt!

your training for the nasa nationals right? what shirt are you using for your nasa meet? they allow 1 ply denim i believe, and velcro back as long as the neck is intact if im not mistaken. im with you open back is awesome, i use a open back dd, but i have a rage x for single ply meets.

sounds like a plan. ill have to remember that the next sunday when i use the shirt again. the shirt is hella tight, and it seems like the baby power did very little to help get the shirt on. ill try putting the shirt on inside out like you said, roll it down the body.

We're getting the Metal Viking X-Type Bencher with 90 degree arms, open back with a neck. Its legal for the NASA meet. We've yet to get them and I, but we will let everyone know how we fare in them. Thanks!

i had the metal ipf shirt, open back with the neck, it was very similar to the fury shirts, give us some feedback on the x-type after you guys use them some.
