involuntary finger twitching

Nobledude

Well-known member
I have been experiencing involuntary twitching on my left had pink fingers. Is there a reason for concern? What could be the causes?
Thanx a lot for any helpful advice

Are you taking any medicines or supplements? How long has it been going on? Is their a trigger event?

Their are numerous causes of muscle-twitching. Most of them are short-term, and cause no problems/require no treatment. One common cause in benign fasciculations, and it is often caused by medication or supplements (remember herbs are supplements to).

If it has been happening for a while, I would recommend you see a doctor. It is probably nothing, but their are serious conditions (mainly neurological) that can cause it, and some of them are degenerative.

If you post more information, I can try to provide a little more detailed information, but I will still recommend you see a doctor.

Good luck.

I did take EFSAM400, Magnesium and B6, B12 vitamins. I just saw the doctor , he game me a few blood tests...Ca, potasium and magnesium level seem to be normal. I was freaking out after I did some research on the net about ALS.

The dr. also did some test on my finger strength that seemed to be OK.

I get twitches in my pinkie and middle finger...once in a while on my biceps. I noticed once when I have a confrontation with one of my coworkers, my pink fingers started to twitch.

Tx for any advice.

I do not know what EFSAM400 is, but average supplement doses of B's and Magnesium should not cause twitching.

How long have you experienced the twitching?
Is their particular events that trigger the twitching?
How often does it occur?
Were their any diet/exercise/lifestyle changes made before the twitching started?
Is it always the same side? Right-hand vs Left-hand?
Have you been sleeping OK?

The chances for ALS or some other degenerative disorder are incredibly tiny. You did the right thing by going to the doctor, though.

You mentioned confrontations with coworkers, are you in a high-stress environment? Stress (and almost any strong emotion) can cause nervous "twitches".

lol! you went to the doctor for that??? you one of those guys who rushes himself to the emergency room after cutting himself with an ice cube tray?
