Investment Banking Internships

has anyone done interships at an investment back or anything? I was wondering how to apply and get an intership at one of these firms. If anyone has been down this road and wants to be helpful with this kinda stuff toss me a PM.

I'll be checking with the Career Center at school and I hope it's not to late and that they can help me find an internship for the summer of 2003.

That's a tough field to crack. I had a few friends in college intern at Goldman Sachs and that was ONLY because their fathers worked for Merill Lynch.

The best way is through your university. Other than that, you are just one more CV on a list of hundreds.

Thats what I thought. Thats not-2thick. I hope it's not to late for the 2003 summer internship programs. I think some firms cut off is the end of jan. and they do interviews in feb.

You have got to move quickly...Most major companies have already interviewed for the summer and are bringing in their 2nd round of recruits to finish up the full time positions. The major nstitutions are really low balling new graduates with offers. Believe me, I have my 2nd interview/orientation on Thursday.

i worked for CSFB last summer hours were rough on the train at 6am every morning....got home at 5pm made shit in terms of money and didn't do much in the way of work

did an internship there though? My cousin is a Vice President at CSFB. What did you do there OX? Did the just have you get coffee basically or did you get some hands on stuff?

i worked in trading (bonds)

obviously i couldn't touch a security, but i was what they call a junior trader basically like a handy man who picks up the phone ands says "trading"
