Hi I have been reading for a while and this is definitely the best forum on the web! The best info, most posts, and best people IMO. Well, about me:l I am 26, 5'8 135 bf 18%. My goal is to lower that and bring out my abs by the fourth of July. I have been eating pretty good and lifting, cardio but this week was kind of a setback because I came down with the flu and haven't set foot in the gym all week. (really rare for me) Well I did get my bf % done on Tues and the the "trainer" who did the test came back with 14% (I wish!!) I kind of had to tell him that it was wrong and I was really disappointed about the lack of accuracy! So I decided from now on I am not ever going to rely on these stupid machines to tell me how lean/fat I am I am just going to trust my tape measure and mirror! How do I know I am 18% - I don't it's just an estimate. My guess is if I lose 10 lbs of fat I will have the body I want. Here is my training routine. I am planning to sign up for a martial arts/self defense class that is wicked cool (can't u tell I am from MA?) I took it once last week and I am planning to sign up after next week. Until then I am going to do cardio in place of the class but once I take the class which is 4 times a week for about 1hr I will probably just do that and maybe 2-3 shorter cardio sessions a week (20-30 min).
Sun: Legs/abs/calves & cardio
Mon:
Tues: cardio (or class)
Wed: Chest, Shoulders & cardio
Thur:Biceps & cardio (or class)
Fri: Triceps & cardio (or class)
Sat: Back, Rear Delts & cardio (or class)
as for diet I am planning to eat av. 1700/ day
I am not doing low carb because that just leads to binging for me. I normally eat complex carbs for maybe 2 or 3 of my meals like for breakfast, preworkout and sometimes postwokout. If I do cardio after lifting which I want to do is it okay to eat carbs postworkout? Does it depend on the time of day? For example on weekdays I get to the gym about 6:45 and lift, do cardio come home and it's about 8:30. Should I just have a protein and call it a day at that point? On Saturdays though my class is at noon so I plan to lift before the class and probably will get home around 1:30 - what should my eating look like the rest of the day? Thanks girls! Any other tips to help me reach my goals is appreciated.
