Internet problem..little help???

TC2

My internet has been acting screwy since yesterday.

I can access most sites(this one obviously) but sites like www.msn.com and microsoft's sites won't load.

It"ll say web site loading then go the the error screen. Also windows and yahoo messenger won't log in either.

I have 2 computers, DSL and a router. Both computers are experiencing the same problem.

I can understand If I somehow screwed up some settings on my main cpu(didn't do anything different though), but both cpus should'nt be messed up.

What gives, could my isp(verizon) just be having problems??

If so why would I be able to connect at all??

if you can access some sites but not all, either your ISP has blocked those sites or the DNS server you're using is having issues.

try using the "tracert www.msn.com" command

6 hops then timed out and I have no clue what the numbers mean(besides ip addys)

ok, try pinging each one and see what happens

this is very strange

all timed out...100% loss

Searching with google is screwed up to half work, half don't.

Thank god porn searches don't seem to be affected.

OMG!!!!

My porn!!! :bawling:

This blows, guess I'll have to call them 50 times now and each person I talk to will tell me something different like always.

Fuck... well Karma to you for your help sir.

When did this start ?
Any changes to your machine or ISP ?

Have your tried doing an Net IPrelease or refresh( I think thats it)
This should refresh the DHCP stuff including the DNS entries.

Try pinging
207.68.171.244, 207.68.171.245, 207.68.171.247, 207.68.172.234

thoss are msn.com addys, see if it's just dns hosed up.

Started yesterday, didn't change anything. Tried the release renew thing and no go.

Doesn't make sense that some are screwed up and some are not.

Kazaa works, but no email works hotmail, yahoo.

I've done everything I can think of on my side.

DSL modem reset check
Router reset ...check
internet connection config...check
network conn.....check
restart both machines..check
DNS,ipconfig,ping,tracert..check
hurt hand after punching wall...check

Screw it I'll have to call verizon.

Thanks anyways.
