Internet explorer question

Not 24 hours ago I made fun of people for asking computer questions on here, but I think the karma came back to bite me.

Anyway, what would suddenly make Internet explorer very sluggish. No other programs are running slow. Just this. Aside from the general solutions such as clearing cache, cookies and stuff. The cursor and text lags behind right now as I type and mouse clicks are a good 2 second wait.

The Devil.

Try exiting it (not just closing it with the big X in the corner, but actually going to File->Close) and then starting up again.

If you have NT, 2K, or XP, then right click on the taskbar and bring up the Task Manager from that menu and check the processes that are running (processes, not applications).
In there, kill any IE processes that are still running.

It sounds like a memory leak.

Also, if you have a fast connection, do a Windows Update to make sure you have all of the updated system files and stuff so that you aren't open to some virus/worm/trojan.

Also, if you are running kazaa or have installed shit recently, it is feasible that there is some spyware going on too.

Reboot your system - if it's still sluggish, I'd be thinking of spyware.

Run adaware or something of the sort. Do a virus check.......
