A freind is thinking about receiving an int pkg. If customs interepts an international pkg. how do they decide who to send a letter to and who to do a C.D. on? Is it all based on order size or that an addy receives a lot of int pkgs? Or is it random? What do you guys think is an amount that is not going to look like you are intending to distribute? I know it is allways a gamble & that a good source is the key, but what do you think is a reasonable amount to get at one time? What we see as personal use , customes may see as something else. Opinions please.

Who knows why they decide to bust some people and not others. Its probably just how busy people are. If it lands on the desk of some young agent with a hard-on to bust somebody, he may want to do a CD. Thats why international orders are best recieved around holiday time. So much stuff is going through customs, a lot less chance of being searched, and if it is, everyone is busy so they will likely let it slide.

If I were you, go with stealth products if shipping international.

depends on the mood of the agent i say......and of course the size of the order, i mean 10k worth of gear will probably get you more than a seizure letter, vs 150 bucks of personal gear

I would say mainly random. But a point worth remembering is which country the parcel is coming from? YOU HAVE TO UNDERSTANDIn reference to USA & UK) it is law that all parcels coming to the countries display an invoice with the receiver and senders details with content detail and value of item. Obviously, the invoice shows which country the shipment has originated from. All shipments are scanned and if the relevant authorities want to say...look at the parcels where the invoices show a particular country which they might be interested in... Say Pakistan or Iran, it’s not hard for them to do that if they want to.
