Interesting Prison Experiment

Experiment has just been published in the Uk by Oxford University. They gave flax seed and vitamin pills to prison inmates.. within weeks, violence against wardens was down by 40%. They then withdrew the supplements and violence returned to pre-supplemental levels (i.e. it rised 40%).

Interesting huh?

It was on tv a minute ago.. I'll have a quick look though...

The scandal is that British ministers have decided not to carry on the program!!!

Therefore, Oxford are now thinking of performing the exp on school children in inner city schools.

Fuck flax seed. They should give inmates fina so the all rage and kill one another. That would be a good deterant for not wanting to goto jail.

It completely depends on what they gave him. I recently received a study on combining various vitamins and minerals on bi-polar people and the data suggests it greatly helps, as much as drugs in most cases. Only reason why I didn't want to try it is cause it costas like $280 canadian a week. I'll take the drugs when I can get 'em thanks very much. Anyway, that could ahve something to do with it since a lot of people in prison either suffer from or claim to suffer from mood disorders.

did it include choline, inositol?

Choline because of it's depressant action (for manic phase) and inositol for depressive phase?

i saw a report on that. they should fund a bigger trial to find out for definate. buggers

Um...I dunno. I would think so. Do any of your posts ever not somehow throw inositol into the mix?

This is very old news. The first vitamin studies in prison for reducing violence were in the '50s... then more in the '60s... '70s... '80s... etc...
