Honestly, type 2 diabetes is a function of diet and inflammation. I have always heard these horror stories about insulin users messing themselves up. I have never seen it and don't know anyone that has. I think if you are using 10 iu pwo you need to factor about 10 g of a simple carb per 1 iu of insulin. You need to hit the shake with about 50 g of protein. Then have a good meal with carbs, protein and fat about an hour later. You dont need to cycle it but you have to be aware of some side effects that are kind of interesting. Fat around the organs for one...not having your diet dialed will cause some bad feelings...keep some candy bars on hand if you crash. Type II diabetes is a disease caused by carbohydrates and is a function of inflammation due to gluten and other crappy processed foods. Keep the diet clean, avoid processed foods and gluten products like wheat, barley and rye and you will avoid diabetes. Another interesting fact is whey protein causes insulinotropic effects. What does this mean? It means dairy products, (whey is made from milk) eventhough they are low in the GL index, still cause an insulin spike. So if you find yourself taking a lot of whey protein drinks during the day or night this will effect your insulin levels. Keep the whey in your post workout drink and you should be fine. Most people dont understand that you can cycle you insulin naturally.
