Hi everyone. I'm fairly new here, and am trying to make my situation as simple as possible, despite it's complicated history.
First off, I will clearly state that I have been a health nut and frequent gym-goer for years. Carb cycling, reps, testosterone, ALA, CLA, ECA., glycogen, fish oil...this girl knows her stuff. However, every now I decide to take a chance, and ask some fellow bodybuilders for a little help.
We all know that different bodies respond differently to certain types of diets. About 4 years ago, I was starting to get amazing results from a low-fat, high protein, moderate carb diet (ok, I'll admit it...I read Body for Life, lol). Unfortunately, I never gave it a chance.
Flashforward about 4 years later, I'm 26, and at this point, barely tolerate carbs at all. It is obvious that I have developed some type of insulin resistance. I used to thrive from a snack of strawberries and low-fat cottage cheese - these days it'd make me bloated and gassy.
For about a year I've been dedicating myself to training, but feel as if I'm getting jipped when it comes to fat loss. I know many of you might request my entire routine, but for now, I just want to know if anyone else out there has had, or is having a problem assimulating carbs of all forms. If so, what are you doing to keep your blood sugar levels in check, and how are you still able to acquire muscle mass? Also, have any of you been misdiagnosed although you feel you have a thyroid condition? Mine was off in the past, but until I can find a doctor that won't try to take advantage of me, I am trying my best to control my problem through diet, exercise, and supplements.
Thanks in advance to all who genuinely want to help. I've left other forums because of immature brats who have nothing better to do than make fun of posts or judge. I was hoping to finally find a board to call home.
