Insulin Question?

How long can have insulin out of my refrigerator before its bad. IE: I go to work out at 5:00 and bring my slin with me. I plan on taking the slin at 8:30. Will it still be ok or is this too long without it staying cooled.

i dont know the answer to this, but why dont you just bring a lunch box to work and keep it on an icepak or something to be sure ?

it should be ok, they say 6-8hrs on humalin R....get a diabetics kit, it has a ice pack....it will keep it fresh

I will if I have too. But what I mean is I go to train at 5:00 and dont finish till about 8:00 or 8:30. If I dont need to keep it cool it is one last thing to worry about. I usually take my slin with me but my workouts are usually never this long so its not a problem.

Thanks Bigdogmikey. Its humulin R but I might as well put it on a icepack for safety reasons.
