Insulin duration question

I did a half ass job searching for an answer, but couldn't find anything. How many weeks at a time can one take Humalog ?

To be safe and avoid insulin resistance and eventually diabeties I would advise around 4-5 weeks at a time. Depends on how much risk you are prepared to take, although many will say longer.

strengthmonster: that's seems to be the word about insulin at the Humilin R or N level. since Humalog is so short acting, would the 4-5 week rule of thumb change ?

Couldn't say mate. I use humalog and only use it to those times. Humalin R has a longer peak time not like steroids which are based on longer half lives so I guess it would be the same.

There are a few guys on here that take the humalog every day for as long as 12 weeks. I only take it on days that I work out and will probably go 6 weeks on and 6 weeks off.

I myself don't believe insulin usage causes diabeties alone. Heredity has more to do with being a diabetic then using 10-20ius a day. If your family has a history of diabeties it may promote the disease. I could understand if you were constantly injecting insulin night and day. But the life of insulin in the body is around 4-8 hours depending what type you take. Saying that I feel safe using insulin for 4-5 weeks at a time. I've used it for 8 weeks and have had no problems whatsoever...

i know about all roid but i dont know about insulin
i thing insulin that us for people have alot os sugar in there blood

4-5 weeks tops. Don't buy into the more is better idea whether it be dose or time. Cycle it so your body can adjust- period.
