that's a good thing, means you are in the muscle, and not sitting on top of a pierced vein. When it fills with blood is when you want to remove the pin and shoot somewhere else.

Quick question regarding this:
If you do hit a vein and suck up blood (never have) do you just pull it out change the needle and shoot it back into a better spot w/the blood still in it, or do you have to waste it? I think I remember that you can just reshoot it since its ur own damn blood anyways.

After years of reading, the whole aspirating thing confuses me in one aspect: What if no bubbles or blood come up?? I am assuming this may be ok since the muscle can be creating a vacuum, but am I mistaken? It seems from all I have read that either you get bubbles or blood. Is getting nothing at all OK??

Blood comes up - not a problem, you're just puting more of your own blood back into you.

Nothing comes up - which muscles are you hitting - sounds like a shitload of scar tissue or something. Try pulling a little harder, but I would like to think things would be alright.

I have been hitting my shoulder, after a good deal of pulling, I can get a bubble or two at times. However, pulling on it much makes it move, and I would rather not tear up any more tissue than I have to. Scar tissue is not an issue in the area for now, since they are my first shoulder jabs.

Straight from the doctors mouth, bubbles and nothing are perfect, the reason is the different muscle areas, remember there is oxygen in there.

As for blood yes you can re-shoot it I do all the time. My doctor says if you get a little blood but without pain if you do not feel like screwng with it, plundge away. This is not to be a regular practice but once on a great while may not worth the extra effort screw it.

One more, when my doc gives them to me he does not aspirate, he is old school, and claims it is the nerves we are more concerned about.

Get this I decided to run some math I never did this, and this is conservative.

20 x 52 = 1,040
1040 x 4 = 4,160

and not one problem on even one red spot or irritation, nothing. The above issues are very important but clean, proper prep and sterilization are my main focus.
