Just hit a vein in the right glute for the first time. I aspirated and the syringe was filled with about 1cc of blood. So I pulled out and inserted the needle in another spot. No blood this time so I just shoot the stuff in. My Q is if it was a bad move, should I perhaps have tried to get the blood out of the syringe before injecting or doesnt it matter?
I have done the same thing quite a few time. I just put the blood back in. But you should realize it is blood before withdrawing an entire mL of it. As soon as the back of the pin fills with blood, pull it out and put it in another spot; or go in deeper. Another thing you can do is pull it out about 1/4" and push it back in at a different angle to miss the vessel (aspirate again of course). This is what I have done and never had any problems.
My last injection must have passed through a vessel, because after aspirating and injecting, I withdrew the needle and it lightly trickled a little blood, nothing major. But now the injection spot is in pain. Normally the testE that I am currently taking is no pain at all.
No contamination issues. You will most likely end up with a bruise because you are injecting the blood back if there is a significant amount of blood of course

when you aspirate, do it gently. If the pin is in a vessel, the blood will show real quick. There is no reason to jerk it back real hard. If miniature bubbles appear then disappear when you let the plunger go then you are where you want to be.
