initial 2 weeks use of ONE

Well, two weeks of ONE are complete with mixed results. My conditioning has not been good enough to include measurements/bodyfat info, just strength results.

PROS - Intensity and strength jumped significantly over the two weeks. All lifts are up 5-10% on 8 or 10 reps. Also, fatigue is down as is recovery time. This comes with use of 4 squirts, two times a day, spread almost exactly 12 hours apart.

CONS - I am thirty years old, and have a full head of hair. I had never really experienced any hair loss, until last week. Its only 15-20 pieces a day, but for me, thats a LOT. I can only attribute this to the addition of ONE to my regiment. Protein was upped by about 50 grams a day, but other than that (and increased intensity in the gym) nothing has changed. Does anybody have any suggestions as to how I might combat this? Par? Bill?

Also, does anybody know or want to speculate on how Propecia might help. Supposedly it just inhibits test from converting to DHT. Perhaps I can use that, and ONE, and get the best of both worlds.

Any input on the hair loss issue would be great.

I think you may be looking for hair loss while on one because you know it's a possible side effect, it's quite common. Fifteen to twenty hairs a day sounds like "normal" hair loss. I freaked out thinking I was losing hair with my first few cycles that I did in my early twenty's, I'm now thirty and my hair line hasn't moved. :D

Nizoral shampoo and a topical spiro are helpful from what I have heard. Likewise, doing a search under hair loss on the anabolic board could provide soem useful info.

Taking propecia won't stop hairloss that's being caused by 1-test. 1-test doesn't convert to DHT. Propecia is only helpful when taken with anabolics which convert to DHT (test & halo, for example) . If you took it, it'd prevent your own test from converting to DHT, but your own levels will probably be suppressed soon anyway. If your concerned you should try a topical solution, like JavaGuru mentioned. I used Nizoral shampoo while taking winstrol and I didn't have any hair loss, but I'm not sure if I'm genetically predisposed to it.

I have heard people say that hair loss is noticeable when they first take steroids, but with extended use and subsequent cycles they do not notice it anymore

1) 1-test DOES convert to DHT

2) Halo does NOT convert to DHT

3) Propecia will not effect the conversion of 1-test to DHT because the conversion is not via the 5-AR enzyme

Got it?

Halo does seem to undergo 5-alpha reduction. I can only assume by its androgenic nature that this metabolite is more potent.

I would not assume this at all. The 9alpha fluoro and the 11beta hydroxy can easily affect A ring binding to the androgen receptor and make it behave quite differently than DHT.

You should never assume activity of a steroid based on structural similarities to active ones. Vida's book is full of steroids which you would assume are very active but are inactive

Pat,

Since 1-test does convert to DHT, then would rogaine be helpful during a cycle of 1-AD, if someone was concerned with hair loss?

Rogaine does not work by interfering with DHT

Quite consistently the 5-alpha reduction of modified c-19 steroid increases their androgen receptor binding. I took a stab in the dark based on this fact as well as the known androgenic nature of halo. But I do sorely appreciate the lesson on making educated guesses Pat. Thanks.
