to be honest, I'm not a big guy, work out 4-5 times a week. I'm 5.8, 145lbs. I look like 160lbs at leastI'v been working out for almost 3 years. I just baught the tribulus like that. If that shit isn't worth balls, then what would you guys recomend, something to boost my "hornynes" and at the same time help me out in the gym?
You're working out too many times a week, cut that down to 3-4 days, maybe less, depending on other factors (do you work? stress, etc.)
Here's a couple of mistakes to watch out for, these are most likely the reason why you're not gaining.
1. Eat like a horse: This means you should probably be eating from 1000+ up of whatever your CURRENT level is. If you are worried about putting on fat, then get used to it because in most cases YOU CAN'T AVOID IT.
If you are very fat (over 15% BF) then consider taking the time to lose the fat first. If you are skinny, it doesn't even matter what you eat, have like 2-3 protein shakes a day, and then eat whatever the hell you want, Pizza, McDonald's, etc. and LOTS OF IT! Of course, if you put fat on too easily, then you still have to eat a lot, but then you would try to eat cleaner calories.
2. Train your WHOLE body!: I see guys who only do chest, or arms, and expect them to grow. Remember that as a general rule, you need to gain from 10-15lbs of LEAN MUSCLE to get an inch on your arms.
And don't do fucking geek exercises, like cable crossovers, or tricep pushdowns. Stay away from machines, use free weights. I personally prefer to do dumbell presses instead of a bench press, even though you initially will lift less, your chest and shoulders get a good workout this way. and don't forget to SQUAT!!!!
Forget leg presses, they are not as good. If you find you can only lift 100lbs on the squat, then that's what you lift. Leave your ego in the locker room PLEASE!!!
When I see a skinny guy doing bicep curls with 50lbs weights, all I can see is how they are throwing their whole back into the curl. It's better to do a 25lb curl that will actually hit the bicep!
3. REST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SLEEP!!!!!!!!!!! Goddammit! I see people working their asses off, then they stay up 'till 3am in the morning. BIG mistake! your body will go catabolic in no time! make sure you sleep at LEAST 8hrs, possibly even more, making sure you are as refreshed as possible.
As far as supplements go, try these in this order:
1. Protein (unless you eat half a cow daily you are going to need a protein powder)
2. Zinc and Magnesium (ZMA is really good, but very expensive, I just use Zinc and Magnesium tablets)
3. Creatine
there's other supplements that are ok, but those 3 are the foundation one IMO.
