Inflammation in the elbow region

Vermeulen

New member
I have been struggeling with inflammation in my elbows, elbow joints and triceps for some time now. Been to the doctor, and he did not know anything about it. Im currently going to a physiotherapist. He says that when Im well enough to train again, I should do it with a high number of repetitions and low weight and that it would take some time before I can begin to train normally again.

Does any one of you have similar experiences? Suggestions to preventive measures and things I can do to make it better?

I don't know exactly what's going on with all the inflammation, but if at least part of the problem is elbow tendonitis (which sounds like it might be), then try high-rep reverse wrist curls. e.g. pronated WRIST curls

(NOT reverse biceps curl, but reverse WRIST curl -- flexion at the wrists, palms facing down)

Get a neoproxene(sp?) elbow sleeve. Shit saved my life. Before it I couldn't do any pressing movement. Works like magic.

I'm tempted to agree with you, even though I don't think I've ever tried that. My elbow has been bugging me at a low level for awhile now, & yesterday I did a routine with O-style lifts that made it very sore. As I said, I don't have that elbow sleeve, but I took some Salon Pas patches (which are, like, drenched in heating rub), and actually duct-taped them to my elbow to make sure they stay on for awhile. Elbow's fine!

So now I really would like to get ahold of these elbow sleeves. Are they very durable, or do they tend to bind up & fall apart by the end of the day? And where can I get them?

After workouts, apply heat to the area for 10 minutes. After that apply ice to the area for another 10 minutes. Give that a try for a few days to see if it works for you. It might, it might not but worth a try. It helped me
