Infection

I posted to the board the other day about a possible infection from an injection....well it turned out to be an infection. cellulitus.
Got an IV of antibiotics at the ER, then some keflex for 10 more days...I'm scared shitless to do another injection. I don't think it was the gear because I've been injecting for close to a month before the infection. Probably a dirty needle, but I followed clean procedures...showered prior to injecting, alcohol swabbed area before and after injection....tonite I preloaded a syringe. I alcoholed the top of the vial, injected a needle filled the pin then switched the needle. I'm thinking that may be where I'm getting the pin dirty, during the switching...any suggestions on how to keep the pin clean?

What gear are you using?brand?

You can run it through a filter if it is vet or some underground lab gear.

infection

Work for a ready mix concrete company...I'm the plant manager...
what else could it be? Again, I don't think it was the gear because I had been running the gear for at least 3 weeks prior to the infection. I think it was a dirty needle, though I'm not sure how it got dirty. I use a draw needle and then switch the pin...

well from ur profile devil dog u outa know about cellulitus..thats why i was asking whatelse u do...cellulitus creaps in the smallest opening in the skin....so u getting dirty at work could be your cause. Id say clean you injection spot and maybe bandaid it up for a while to see if that help and clean again after work.
