I will be on June 28, 2001!!
Well, at least that's the day I'm going down to MEPS to sign up and get my shit tested. woohoo!! I'm still stuck in Wisconsin for another year though :rolleyes:

Why? Don't/Didn't you graduate this year?
Why not go to college and get into the Navy as a higher grade?

I have another year of highschool left. I'm old for my grade....I turn 18 in September. I'm going for the NROTC scholarship, but if I don't get that I'm either gonna GI Bill it or take classes while i'm in and get my degree that way.
 
I'm sorry. You're about to have the worst time of your life! My best friend is in right now and he hates life. he's getting out next Feb and has been counting the days. Me on the other hand i'm in the Air Force and it doesn't get better than this! So when you're on this board two years from now telling how life sucks don't say I didn't tell you so, because just about all say if they had to do it over again they would go in the Air Force unless your going to become a Navy Seal.

Yup I will be looking forward to that post too, I think a majority of the active and prior service people on this board told her not to join the Navy and BTW she can't be a SeAl...........Good luck SG and get your degree cause you are gonna hate that shit and want to get out.
 
Hey, loooong time no talk!! Enjoy your last year of high school, it's definitely the best...As far as the Navy, I'm glad you're doing what YOU want to do. I hope everything works out for you...

What rate are you going in as?.... Tell me you are not going in un-rated:confused:

BTW.... I did 6 years in the Navy as an ET.... best job to have;) .... other than being smart and going in as an officer.

Oh,.... be careful of that Navy butt! Every woman that I knew that went into the navy grew a huge ass within a year...... don't let it happen!
 
Some people love it and some hate it. The two girls from the school that joined last year both absolutely love it and are having the times of their life. I'm sure I will too.

I'm not going in unrated. I'll be working with the recruiter for the next year and I can get in as an E3 if I do all my shit....which I am most definitely going to do.
 
Sage advice given to me just before a six year term in the USN. While your in you will hate it, it will seem like time stands still and your enlistment will go on forever, but don't worry time moves faster that you think, and someday in the not too distant future you will look back on your time in and remember it with fondness and longing. It will be one of the most exciting and fun times of your life and it will never be forgotten.

So I say enjoy it while your in, take advantage of every opportunity it provides, and know that you'll be a better person when it's all over with!!
