In need of rock climbing shoes

In my next contest I will be pulling a 70,000 lb truck for 100 feet for time. A lot of the guys will be using rock climbing shoes to help with their foot grip on the pavement. I have found a few places off the net to order from...but I have a large foot. I wear a 16 in most New Balance cross trainers and a 16.5-17 in Nike.

Can anyone help me?!!!!

Rock climbing shoes are smooth and very small, for getting your toes on the ledges. I used to rock climb:) Ahhh...I missed that...what a rush when you make it to the top. I used to leave a trail of blood though, because I never quite keept my knees out and used to scrape them up all over the face.

You need some rugged hikers. But nothing fancy...don't spend alot. The pricey ones are mostly due to the internal support they offer, not for the tread.

WAIT...I take that back. Pulling at that angle the shoes would provide less ridgedness. No hard soes (to bend to fit into rock face pits) and the material on the soles are tacktified (stickery to grip rock).

So in that case.....good luck finding a pair in your size B Fold. I'll attach some websites if you want:) From your littl' town in KY you'll probabbly need to order them online dear

Litte town in KY? Ha ha....yep...that's me. But wait....you can drive 30 minutes for beer and an hour for a mall...:)

So you got any stoplights...or is that for the big city folk??!

I've seen a stoplight before. We actually have a caution light right down the road...that's what we do for fun on weekends. Sit out of the porch in our rocking chairs and listen to grandpa play the banjo while me-maw chews her tobacco from her mail pouch sack. Fun here n Kentucky.

Bet yall got both kinds of music too....Country and Western. ;)

B-Fold... If you do end up choosing rock climbing shoes, remember to get a pair that is about a size to a size and a half to small.. You want your toes to be almost curling under at the tip.. This way, you will have maximum stability, and rigidness.. Where exactly are you in KY ?? There is an area called the Red River Gorge that is a climbers haven there.. You could find anything you need.. Its about 45 minutes east of Lexington.. Otherwise, I would look online at places like REI, Black Diamond, etc.. Most outfitters will carry what you need.. I would be somewhat apprehensive about buying online though.. Climbing shoes are definitely something you need to try on.. Its a much different fit than any shoe you have ever worn before.. If you decide to go with a hiking boot, get something that is full grain leather, and has a 3 quater steel shank through the sole.. Vibram soles are the only way to go too.. Bomb proof.. Good luck ..
