Regarding costs the way I see it:
Great food will be cheaper, servants will be cheap, nice housing will be cheap, transportation can be cheap unless you drive your own car in which case it will be similar to the US (perhaps taking a taxi everywhere is best at first), tailored clothing will be cheap I am assuming, socks and t-shrts and sportswear will be cheap, pirated media will be cheap, computers are cheap anyway. I guess if you want to buy nice clothes you will have to pay a bit more, but I bet some very nice things are a bit cheaper than in the US.

Very cool bro. You will be living in luxury and learn a lot by submerging yourself into a new place.

I don't think the crime rate is all that exaggerated..

My cousins who just moved here from Brazil 2 years ago, were born and raised there (27 years), and the stories are not cool. They also were looking for a house with bars on the windows when they came here.. umm.. this is Canada we don't really have those here. :)

My mother and my best friend have both recently travelled there on vacation, both were robbed, one at knifepoint, (my mom) with her 6'5 brother standing with her... being big doesn't matter.

Just be careful Boden.. that's all.
