I'm getting the disinct impression you guys don't have much respect for me. That's fine, I still KNOW I'm WAY better than all of you. The point is that I have to pay off some student loans hopefully before I go to grad school or whatever. Fuck it, I don't care what you guys think about me. Not one bit. Not at all in fact. Maybe I'll be a doctor one day. You don't know. You don't even know me.

I worked at a convenience store part-time back in high school...the comment about reading magazines, watching TV, and catching shit from assholes was right on the money. There are better ways to pay off the loans...just about anything is better than min wage at Becker's or Mac's or Wink's or whatever Canadian franchise you're at.
i did the night shift at a gas-station one time. sucked big fat donkey-balls. will never do that again. I had to do all the cleaning when business was slow. If I never scrub another toilet it will be too soon. was always tired too, could never adapt to those late hours. my lifting suffered tremendously during that period
You could always have a friend or relative "rob" the place...make sure you get the cash & tobacco (selling Marlboros, etc. for $2-3 a pack will net you some quick cash)
Free food, magazines, mackin on hos...And if the job gets boring... just come in stoned on some of nature's best.

Thanks for all the advice from each and every one of you magnificent winners. Anyways, the hours won't be much different than they are now. I go to bed around 6am nowadays since I was bouncing 4 nights a week until 3am. The bar dropped two nights and it's now only two nights a week. Hence, I had might as well get something that will mesh with my current employment. As for jobs in my field, that's all I've been doing the past four years. I've published papers and everything so I know what it's like and am not at all enthused to do it again.

i worked nightshift in a convenience store last year. i was the baker, i made the doughnuts. Of course this was in a small town (about 1000 people) but during night shift there were maybe 40 people (usually 10-15 groups of 2-3 at a time) came in an hour. I'd say i spent 1/2 my time reading magazines & studying, so did the cashier. And cops hung around alot too i guess they knew nighttime convenience store workers were at high risk of being assaulted/robbed so they went where the action (and doughnuts) were.
Like biteme says, at around 5am people start coming in and the customer rate goes up to 300 or so an hour.
