Okay, so I just need to vent....My body is changing and it's great because it's really looking better since I started the Shadow plan BUT, I just found 3 new stretch marks that I've never had before on the side of my butt. you know, where your leg bends at the hip? Well, there and I had a couple other small ones on the opposite side that I've never had before!!!! I hate it because just as my butt is lifting and getting firm and hard, I get those ugly things. I've never had stretch marks before so this is really bumming me out. I don't ever notice any other girls having stretch marks and it makes me sad that I thought I was looking better and now I have 6 stretch marks :(

I have em' too. Don't be sad, I look at the bright side, I'll have a freaggin' HOT body and you will too! No biggie in the grand scheme of things. :)

I have stretch marks ALL OVER the place!! I hate them too....

I read somewhere that using self-tanner will make them less noticable....

Thanks girls :) I bought this stuff called stri-vectin and a friend of mine said that it's awesome. i'm gonna start using it TODAY!!!!!

^^^^ You are correct dahlin'

Please refrain from counting them sweetie... always about the numbers...You have your scale weight, portion size, body fat, measurements... these #'s DO NOT define you...

You are beautiful...:rose:

Right on! I even forgot that they're there! I'm checkin' my bod out and watchin' it get HAWT like the firecracker I am! (sorry, gettin' a lil' excited about this show thingie) :)

thanks honey :) but question.....will they go away or appear to vanish as my BF goes down? I'm thinking if my skin looks tighter, it'll be less noticeable. Where did they come from anyway???? I thought if I was losing weight, I wouldn't stretch. Is it because of muscle growth in my booty or is it maybe because my skin was stretched and now I'm losing weight and the skin just needs to catch up to my body shrinkage???? Okay, i'm done obsessing now :D

You would be surprised how many people have stretch marks.

They get real light and slivery so you hardly see them after a while.
Also, there are products on the market now for them - I know there are people here that could tell you what they are called.

SO NO FREAKING OUT!

GOT IT?

GOOD.

They won't ever completely go away. You can get them from either gaining weight or losing weight.....

There are products to make them less noticeable. I have 100s - after a while neither you nor anyone else will notice.

I use cocoa butter (the stuff in a tub that is the consistency of butter, not lotion) as my moisturizer every morning. It's supposed to help prevent new stretch marks. Plus, it makes your skin realllly soft and smooth :)

Cocoa Butter is GREAT, I took that ideer from Miss DG (AVEENO ROX)

...however, since I avoid the sun and use spray tanning... anything with mineral oil is a no no... in case anyone else fantasy/spray tans :)

So now when we get new peeps on here we have to ask them to quantify the following:

- height
- weight
- bodyfat
- daily meal plan
- training schedule
- cardio schedule
- number & length of stretch marks

lol!

I love Aveeno lotion ... like bunny said. :) it is the best. Nothing else in the WORLD eliminates my dry skin like Aveeno.

Stretch marks are 99.9% genetics. There are some people that just don't get them - no matter what. ANd there are some people who get them very easily. They just mean that your skin stretched or shrunk quickly. As we age, our skin loses elasticity (plus, sun exposure and dehydration reduces elasticity). This will cause stretch marks to happen faster and more often.

Once you get them, you are stuck with them. They will not go away 100%. Lotions and cremes can help reduce their noticability, but nothing will eliminate them entirely. A tan helps them "hide" - use self-tanner or spray tan.

Yes, they suck. But yes, they are a part of life.

and throw in varicose veins, i have them and they are so ugly. I get really down when i look at my legs cause i worked so hard on them and now i have these bluish, purpleish marks, spots, veins on my upper legs. Does anybody else have these and what did they do for them? I read you have to take care of them early cause they get worse as you age. I'm ready to freak out! Pleeeeaaaasssseeee Help!!!!!!!!
Oh, and Bunny, why do you avoid mineral oil? What does it have to do w/ stretch marks? Are you talking about a self-tanner? Just wondering....

Yes... after I get a fake tan (Not in the booth)

In my experience, Mineral oil, along with AHA's cause topical tanning agents to streak fade, freckle, blotch, not good :)

Learned the hard way :D

... I love M.O. and use lotions that have it as well, ...cocoa butter etc but only when I'm not getting a "Fantasy Tan"

Thx Bunny! Yea, my varicose veins are noticably on the sides of my legs, where the outer sweeps are. Its so obvious and i hate it. I'm using the self-tanner to hide them. I'll make sure my lotions i apply b4 have no mo in them. :)
