SCAVENGER ITEMS TO HUNT FOR IDEAS ARE WELCOME. ANYTHING GOES. GET CREATIVE************

Anyone ever do this? Thinking about renting out a a VFW hall. Getting a Bunch of freinds together having a scavenger hunt Here's a rough copy of what i came up with so far. Any input or advice would be appreciated.


We are organizing a “scavenger hunt” to take place in late August. We are sending this email around to ensure that we will have enough teams to make this a worth while “hunt”.

It will be a 200 dollar entry fee per team. And we will need to know by “this date” if you will be partaking and who your members are.

Based on how many teams decide to play we will determine what first prize will be. Included in this 200 dollar entry fee will be for Open Bar for after the event and food through out the hunt. The Hunt will take place on a Saturday. Check in will be at 3 pm at this time you will be given the list, You will have an hour to organize with your team where none of your members may leave the verification site.

From 4-8 is the actual contest. Party is from 8 till whenever. Awards take place at 11pm

Once we have a list of how many teams we have, we will determine were the event is going to be located and the date it will be.

Attached below is a list of rules and regulations for the contest.




Must enter as a team –
a. Minimum of 2 per team
b. Maximum of 4 per team
Entry fee of $200 per team –
c. Fee to be paid at “time we deterime”
Each team may use a maximum of 4 cars during the hunt, but articles may only be brought back to check-in area in one in one automobile, which is to be designated prior to the commencement of the hunt.

Each team may return articles to the verification point as often as desired, but only those articles on the official list will be awarded points.
Points will only be given during the contest times. Articles brought to the verification point before/after designated times will not be counted.
All articles will remain sole property of the contestants.
All quantities and/or specific directions must be adhered to for point values to be awarded

d. There will be no exceptions. The team with the highest point value at the end of the allotted time period will be declared the winner.

e. In the case of a tie, the judges will be required to decide the winner, based upon the amount of high point articles acquired by those teams.
All decisions by the judges are final.

You must sign waiver before participating and anyone caught drinking and driving will be eliminated from contest.

This sounds like fun!! Just make sure to make it really difficult. People want to be challenged.

One of the things should be that when it starts each team has to go to everyone else in the auditorium or wherever it is and find a person with a name that has one of the letters in the team name( oh yeah, they have to make up a team name, but don't tell them it will be part of the game)get that person to sign something to verify. An example would be....Stud Muffins, S=Sally, T=Thomas U=Ulysis and D=Dave till the whole name is spelled out...I'ts a great icebreaker, especially if they don't know each other. Some wild team names are made up and they will end up regretting some of them. Once all letters found or as many as they can get, then they can leave to find the rest of the stuff.
