IM Injection Muscle Spasms

this is 2nd thigh shot, and 2nd time muscle spasm occured- tightened up along a line from shot location up towards hip (sort of a involuntary selective flex of a portion of the quad muscle- very weird)
lasted about 15 min.

hitting a nerve is supposed to be rare. any idea's?

could be a number of things...going too deep, going close to a nerve...

does this spasm occur while the needle is still in or after you take it out?

I am assuming the needle was out because he said that it lasted fifteen minutes, unless you inject sssssslllllllooooowww. but anyway. sometimes the oil will sit near the nerve and kind of twitch, you might have nicked a small one and it kicked in. use hear and advil and it should be okay, leg shots are tough for some guys too many nerves.

the twinge/spasm occured when i stuck it in, then the spasm lasted for the 15 min. using a 1 1/2 22g
, shooting right side of right quad.

sounds like a nerve. There are a lot of nerves in your quad so it's not rare at all to hit a nerve. That's the reason I stopped shooting quads. I was hitting way too many nerves causing my entire quad to jump and tighten.
