well not really but I have to babysit my 3 year old cousin and 10 year old cousin for 3 days.. holy shit this is going to suck ass.. can I pick up a bunch of chicks w/ them?

3 and 10? yuck that's a horrible age gap because neither will be doing the same stuff.

I remember having to watch my nephew when he was little. I'd put him in the round things with wheels, stuck him in the bathroom and pulled the door to.

and before y'all say child abuse, he actually loved it. He had toys on his round stroller thing and loved the full length mirror at the tub. He'd play for hours while I watched tv.

3 days is kind of a long time. The 10 yr old would be easier, you can do fun stuff like play ball, ride bikes, play video games. You can do that stuff with a 3 yr old too, but he'll be higher maintaince, and have a much shorter attention span.

haha ya that's what I'm worried about.. the 10 year old can just play ps3 all week but the 3 year old is going to require a bunch of work. It's suppose to be nice all week so I'm screwed b/c everytime they come over to my house they want to go swimming and they always want to swim for 12 hours straight..

you are sooo going to wear condoms 100% of the time after this lol

haha I've done this before and it had that affect on me.. they were 2 and 9..

holy shit the 3 year old is at the phase where he asks "Why?" after everything.. It's so annoying but you can't get mad at the lil fella!

As if he had a choice?

Dude, you would leave a small child unnattended in THE BATHROOM to play while you watched TV?

I would delete that shit and not brag to anyone about that. Makes you look *not so great*.

LOL Get the ten year old to "help you out" taking care of his little brother. This will keep them together and occupied. Keep praising him about how "You couldn't have taken care of his little brother without his help" and "how proud you are of him for being such a BIG man." ....and mean it. :)

This will keep both out of trouble. Will keep you all three of you involved. And yes, you will be able to pick up all sorts of chicks.

I know how hard it is to keep them safe and amused for that period of time. But if you give the older child some responsibility, I mean, not leave him unsupervised to watch his little brother in the bathroom while you watch TV :lmao: but have him read the instructions for how to make dinner from the mac and cheese box and stuff like that. Have him help you pick out his brother's clothes, stuff like that. It will make the experience a lot more pleasurable than just plain work.

Have fun with it.... :)

dude, 3 year olds are the best age...they learn and pick up on everything!!!

ya I've learned that w/ friends kids, it's funny when it's not your kid but these ones are related so I gotta be careful! :worried:

prolly shouldn't inject in front of them

Fuck me... it's a conspiracy I tell ya.

I suppose now he'll just have to live with how dumb he exposed himself to be... yet again.

It'll be great... Angel is right by three they are out of diapers and can do a lot of stuff for themselves with a little guidance. The ten year old is a little human being that can be totally independent - brush their own teeth, dress themselves, can read and communicate quite well. So you can really have a lot of fun, the three of you together.

Seriously, just give the older one "helper status" and impress upon him from the getco that just because you are a grown up, doesn't mean that you know jack schitt when it comes to taking care of kids so you are REALLY counting on him to help you out. This will make him feel TEN FEET TALL!!! and keep the three of you involved and interacting. Praise them both often when they behave and do things well. But do not hesitate to let them know spot on when they are doing stuff that is just not acceptable.

Mean what you say and say what you mean...

and you will be good to go.

Dont hesitate to give them time-outs if they need it but try and "catch them when they are doing things right." Positive reinforcement goes a long way. And by that I am not talking about buying the kid something or giving them a sugary treat. Could be something like having that child get to pick the next activity or video ya'll watch or a hug and the words, "I am so proud of you for that. I can't WAIT to brag on you to your mom."

God, how old were you? Whether he loved it or not is pretty irrelevant. That is pretty fucking neglectful. He may have loved playing with a poisonous snake, too, but that doesn't mean you should hand him one. :worried:

I'm really hoping you were a child and not this bad as an adult.

just wait until they get in their teens.

my nephews are now both in high school. They always complain that I never have anything good to eat, but yet they basically clean everything I have out.

I have to go grocery shooping before and after they stay with me for a night or two. I couldn't afford them.

ya it's been one day and one night so far and they are already too expensive, I like wasting money on myself not others

they are both boys too so I know at teenage they would eat me out of house and home!

The thing about kids and they're picky eating is usually they love the stuff that is easy to cook. Eggo's, kid's tv dinners, chicken nuggets, fish sticks, frozen burritos, otter pops, hot dogs, mac n cheese. So what if it's not healthy, it doesn't really matter at that age. Plus your the uncle, you don't have to make them eat veggies.
