I'm going to invent a device.

IT goes like this:

It is implanted under a person's skin. It can detect whether that person's cellular phone is turned on and within 20 feet of the person, and can also detect when someone is trying to call that cel phone. If the cel phone is not turned on and within 20 feet of the person, it shocks them.

I think we all have a parent or know of one who needs to have one of these things implanted. It's the only way they'll ever learn to actually use their cel phone.

yeah well my mom still calls hers a "car phone" and only turns it on/plugs it into charger when she's "in the car". you see what Im dealing with here...

lol

yeah my parents and I are on the same plan so we have an assload of minutes to use each month. I'm the only one who uses them, they are wasting so much money.

My parents only have one cellphone and when i try to call my mom , my dad has it, and when i try calling my dad, my mom has it........soooooooooooooo that sucks

i have mine turned off a lot of times when i don't want bothered. people can leave a voicemail if they have something to say

I hate my cell phone, hate talking on the phone for more than 30 seconds, hate that the damn thing rings at all hours of the day or night now that I am on call to go to work. I am one of Pavlov's dogs when that damn thing rings, automatically get pissy and strangley start drooling :P, even when it is someone I want to talk to, not that she calls much anyway. 'Nuff said.

maybe they don't want to answer the phone?

that's fine. note it only shocks the person if the phone is neither close nor turned on. once the phone rings its up to the person what to do with it.

but still, i don't want my phone on me 24/7. i leave it in the car when i go into the gym and when i go to class. not that it matters, i get squat for signal on campus anyway, but sometimes i do, and i'd rather just leave it in the car, even though i can turn the ringer off, i still don't want it with me. just don't need the phone all the time.

and i've got voice mail at home and on the cell. if it's that important, leave a message, i'll call back.

good point. my mom has not figured hout how to configure her voice mail yet. even if she were to record a proper greeting I don't know if she would be able to access it. even if she were able, it remains to be seen whether she would actually do it, if the frequency with which she checks her answering machine is any indication.
